Snow-shoe hike to the Pozze mountain hut

The panoramic walk in the Val di Sole offers a great view on the Presenella Group and is ideal both in summer and winter

The Malga Pozze is located on an impressive high plateau from where the Brenta group and the Presanella mountain group with the same-named glacier can be admired. To reach the starting point of our snow shoe hike, we leave the state road between the villages of Mezzana and Pellizzano and turn into the Val di Sole valley towards the villages of Menas and Ortisè. In Ortisè we follow the road to the Malga Stabli hut, where we park our car at the parking space.

From the Malga Stabli we have to walk back the road for a few hundred metres to reach the forest path, which proceeds straight to the Malga Pozze at the right. Here we follow the markers until our destination.

The path is really beautiful and rich in variety, it proceeds through a forest with centuries-old giant trees and across a wide alpine pasture with gorgeous view. For our way back, we take the path towards the Malga Vallenaia and then Malga Stabli (marked but without numbering).

Please note: next to the parking space there's a little mountain hut as rest point which offers local dishes. Along the path there is no further rest point, so bring provisions!
