The widely scattered municipal area consists of the four villages of Faver, Grauno, Grumes and Valda.
The environment offers plenty of possibilities for activities in the open countryside: excursions along well-signed hiking paths, demanding mountain bike trips, a walk along the “Sentiero Botanico-Naturalistico del Dossone di Cembra” nature trail or a hike to the Lago di Valda biotope offer unforgettable vacation memories. Moreover Altavalle is famous for ancient crafts and a long-standing tradition in winegrowing.
The small villages which belong to the municipality of Altavalle have preserved their rustic and picturesque character, also thanks to the mills, balconies and wood constructions, which still characterise these places. By the way: you shouldn't miss the chance to visit the traditional carnival festivity ”Carnevale di Grauno” which is famous in the entire area of the Trentino.
