The Lago dei Caprioli is an enchanting bathing lake in the Val di Sole

The Lago dei Caprioli in Pellizzano is an artificial swimming lake at 1,280 m a.s.l. This body of water was created in the 60s for tourist purposes. The calm water of the lake, the quiet forests and the easy paths in the surroundings attract several visitors. A true highlight for families with children is the roe deer enclosure. Right above Pellizzano at Malga Bassa stands the visitors centre of the natural park. Here, you can discover interesting information on the fauna, the forests and the high-alpine environment and the agricultural past of the valley.

Some excursions in the surroundings you should not miss are the walk from Pellizzano to the Lago dei Caprioli (6.6 km, 384 metres of elevation gain) and the sentiero degli Gnomi route which is particularly appreciated by families with children. This path is suitable also for baby carriages and can be completed in about 90 minutes. The itinerary dedicated to the gnomes of the forest, features wooden and stone sculptures. The information boards and installations provide interesting information on the natural landscape of the area. The shores around the lake provide equipped beaches, restaurants and a picnic area with tables and benches.
