From a bike park to two beautiful small lakes - a relaxing mountain bike tour in the nature of the Val di Non

The bike park of Coredo on the Via alla Torre road is our starting point on this bright June day for a short cycle ride around nearby Lago di Coredo. Today, this artificial body of water is a popular local recreation spot. Right next to it lies a second small lake, the Lago di Tavon. Walks, including the route to the Sanctuary of San Romedio or the historic Venetian sawmill, start from here.
After a loop through the village of Coredo, we switch from tarmac to gravel and cycle into the forest. There are three of us - our son is cycling with us - and the area, with its picnic spots and outdoor fitness stations, is ideally suited to family outings. Along the path, we continually spot symbolic wooden sculptures from the 'Percorso Predaia Arte Natura': They reflect themes such as youthful energy, the search for maturity, and wisdom.
The artworks are created gradually during the International Wood Sculpture Symposium, held every year in August along the lakeside. The water shimmers through the trees, first to our left and later to our right. Crossing the dam wall, we continue towards Lake Tavon, which we also circle due to the short distance. A restaurant sits on the embankment between the two lakes.
The 'Due Laghi' (Two Lakes) serves traditional Trentino dishes along with Italian macchiato and cappuccino. On the other lakeside we head back again, arriving at the bike park after around an hour of riding time - excluding a few relaxing stops along the way and a visit to the playground. Incidentally, there is also a hike from Coredo to the two lakes and on to the Sette Larici Hut.
