Pian

Pian is a very calm village and a hamlet of Campitello di Fassa. In the vicinity extends Fossel, the other hamlet of the municipality, which includes only a few houses. Pian is easily accessible in a few-minute walk from Campitello. Some traditional mountain haylofts of the 16th century, known as tobiè in Ladin language, were renovated and turned into residences or holiday houses. The narrow stone paths leading across the village, are characterised by typical fountains, piles of wood, animal sculptures, small gardens and minuscule steps. The walls of these picturesque houses are decorated with religious and profane paintings, flowers and gnomes. The small white church from 1750 can be visited from the outside. However, you can see the interiors by peeking through an iron-grated window.

Thanks to its special charme, this locality, where the ancient rural culture of the Val di Fassa continues to live on, was used as a location for shooting films and documentaries. Furthermore, it is an ideal starting point for hikes across the Val Duron or along the Strada de Fossel. We highly recommend undertaking unforgettable excursions to the surrounding mountains, including the Sassolungo Group, the Sas Pordoi, the Col Pelous, the Marmolada and the Sella Group.
