The idyllic architecturally interesting hamlet of Tamion is located in a sunny position from where you enjoy a wonderful view of the Catinaccio, the Sassolungo, the Buffaure and the Cima Dodici. The huts, the traditional farms and stables can be admired during a village tour. The Holy Trinity church with its double-pitched façade was built in 1708 in the centre of Tamion. The year of its construction is depicted at the top of the holy arch and to the right stand the sacristy and the steeple. The church houses an impressive cross and two paintings by Valentino Rovisi, one of the most important Baroque painters of Trentino and pupil of Giovan Battista Tiepolo.
In Tamion you can undertake easy walks or challenging alpine tours in the surrounding mountains. An easy, 4.7 km-long walk with an altitude difference of 339 metres takes you from Soraga to Tamion. In winter you can practise different winter sports in the nearby skiing areas, on the cross-country ski tracks leading across the valley and on the winter hiking paths of the area. We recommend attending the Sagra di Tamion, a traditional festival which takes place in the village every year.
