An adventurous hike in a wild mountain stream

A route through the woods that takes you into the heart of the Sorna Canyon to discover ancient mines, suspension bridges, fairytale caves, and gorges carved and shaped by water.

Are you an adventure lover who isn't afraid to get your hands dirty or your feet wet? Do typical guided hikes on standard mountain paths bore you? Then this excursion is for you: a plunge into the canyon carved by the Sorna stream to discover ancient mines, suspension bridges over dark abysses, fairytale caves, and smooth gorges carved and shaped by water.

With an expert guide, you will start from the small village of Cornè and walk through the woods before descending to the bed of the Sorna stream. Here, you will find 'el pont del Diaol' (the Devil's Bridge), an ancient and highly atmospheric bridge at the point where the stream plunges into a gorge about thirty metres deep. The walk continues down secure steps and ladders to the ancient mines in the riverbed.

If the temperature and water level allow, you can also trek along the stream and swim in its natural pools, fully immersing yourself in the Monte Baldo Park!

Programme

• When: Sunday 21 June, Sunday 5 and 19 July, Sunday 2, 9, 16 and 23 August 2026
• Start location and times: meet at 11:00 in the square in Cornè, returning at around 17:00
• Duration: 6 hours including breaks
• Elevation gain: approximately 350 metres
• Difficulty: medium/difficult route, not so much for the physical effort but due to the nature of the hike: some slippery sections and parts in the water require basic technical and physical preparation
• Clothing and equipment: comfortable hiking clothes, walking boots (compulsory), waterproof jacket, backpack, water bottle, headlamp, complete change of clothes, towel, spare shoes, food
• Minimum age: 14 years
• The explanations during the hike will be in Italian
