Habsburg Carnival

A travel back to the Empire of Franz Joseph and Sissi

Some villages of Trentino still continue to remember the centuries when the region was part of the Austrian Hungarian Empire through a special carnival taking place every year in some villages. On this occasion, parades on the streets of different localities are accompanied by carriages similar to those of the Austrian Hungarian emperors who used to spend their holidays in the most suggestive areas of Trentino, as original paintings and photos show.

The most famous parades can be attended in Pinzolo - Madonna di Campiglio and in Arcoin the Alto Garda. Delve into the Middle-European and royal world by taking part in feasts and celebrations and dance to the most famous classic melodies of the Viennese waltz wearing the typical dresses of the nobles of the past. Don't forget to taste the numerous delicacies prepared according to ancient recipes.
