The village of Vigolo Vattaro belongs to the municipality of Altopiano della Vigolana, has 2,250 inhabitants and is situated at 724 m a.s.l. The locality plunges its roots in the Bronze Age.
Vigolo Vattaro is crossed by the famous Via Claudia Augusta and Vigolo Castle was built here thanks to its strategic position. The hamlet of Vigolo Vattaro has maintained its ancient architecture to this day and has preserved the fascinating buildings, narrow alleys, stone portals and wonderful corners.
Besides a wide range of gastronomical highlights, including wine, honey, chestnuts and home-made cheeses, Vigolo Vattaro is also an ideal holiday destination for sports lovers. The area boasts numerous walking itineraries at the foot of the Marzola, to the malghe of the Vigolana, the "60 km della Vigolana" (60 km of the Vigolana). Also the nordic walking, mountain bike and horse riding itineraries are well-worth mentioning.
