Condino is a typical Trentino hamlet with approximately 1,500 inhabitants which looks back on a significant historical and cultural tradition. Having been the southernmost parish of the Giudicarie area, Condino played an important role as a religious and administrative centre in former times.
Condino's historic centre boasts numerous monuments and marvellous frescoes - a blast for art lovers. Memorable gems are the 12th-century Assumption of Mary church built in local Renaissance style and the Palazzo alla Torre in piazza San Rocco, a residence housing a huge wall painting by Brescian artist Marco Furri in its council hall. Another important building you shouldn't miss is the Baschenis frescoes inside the 14th-century St. Lawrence church on a small hill east of the village.
Just outside Condino you can undertake pleasant strolls along the course of the Chiese river or climb the surrounding peaks from where it is possible to admire stunning alpine views in an almost untouched natural environment. Numerous mountain bike tours and walking paths towards the malghe of Valle Aperta, Brealone, Bondolo and Cima Bruffione are a true highlight for passionate walkers and trekkers.
