The village of Preore has approximately 400 inhabitants and lies at an altitude of 530 m a.s.l. on the conoid of the Rio Manez stream and on the orographic left of the Sarca river.
Once the main and jurisdictional seat of the valley, Preore was also the seat of the Prince-Bishop's vicar of the Giudicarie. Today, Preore is a quiet place and an ideal starting point for walks or mountain-bike tours in nature, as well as for relaxing holidays in the greenery of the Parco al Poz.
Only a stone's throw from Tione di Trento, Preore boasts interesting monuments. These include 17th-century St. Mary Magdalena church replaced a previous church destroyed by a flood. The ruins of Rocca Bastia on the slopes of Monte Amolo are also worth visiting.
