This year, Canazei also dresses up in magic to host its Christmas Market, an event full of traditional decorations and heartwarming experiences. Not in the main square, but in the public park, a short walk from the village centre, where the natural setting already creates a special atmosphere.
But why the name Maitin? Maitin is the Ladin word for Christmas Eve Mass, that moment when children eagerly await the arrival of the Baby Jesus and his gifts. It is precisely this spirit of anticipation, wonder, and sharing that enlivens the market: a place where the scents of mulled wine and traditional sweets mingle with the smiles of people gathering around warming braziers. Here, you can find gift ideas, handmade products, and local traditional delicacies.
