One of the most well-known MTB tours of the Garda region runs along the legendary Tremalzo road

We cycle the tour clockwise, starting in Molina di Ledro. Initially, the Strada del Ponale descends to the village of Prè di Ledro (470 m a.s.l.), where a cobbled mountain road branches off to the right, leading us to the hamlet of Leano. There, we take the gravel forest path to Malga Vil and Passo Guil (1,211 m a.s.l.). Having ascended a challenging slope, a breathtaking view of Lake Garda rewards us for our efforts. Our route leads us to the junction at the Bocca dei Fortini and to Passo Nota, where the Rif. degli Alpini mountain hut stands (last refreshment stop before the queen’s stage).
The next section is both the most beautiful and the most challenging part of the Giro del Tremalzo. The route now follows the Tremalzo pass road, which was built by the Italian army during WWI. Several challenging hairpin bends take us mainly uphill with only a few descents. The road crosses small tunnels and develops at the foot of the south-facing rock walls of the Tremalzo group. At Passo Nota (1,200 m a.s.l.) we continue uphill to the tunnel below the Corno della Marogna, the highest point of our tour (1,855 m a.s.l.). Right after the tunnel we tackle a rewarding descent to the mountain hut on Passo Tremalzo and then continue along an asphalt road to the valle di Ledro. There, we take the cycle path back to the lago di Ledro and Molina di Ledro.
