This classic snowshoe hike takes us from Passo Redebus up to the peak of Dosso Costalta in the south-western part of the Lagorai chain which separates the altopiano di Pinè and the Val dei Mocheni

The Costalta peak, one of the most stunning summits of the Val dei Mocheni, rises only 15 km from Trento. From the peak you can enjoy a truly fascinating view of the entire alpine divide which ranges from Monte Baldo to the Cima Tosa del Brenta, the Carè Alto to the Ortles and from Merano 2000 to Monte Sciliar.
Our starting point is Passo Redebus which can be reached from the Valle dei Mocheni (towards Palù del Fersina) or from Baselga di Piné. The itinerary starts at the crossroads to Malga Combroncoi on the side of the Valle dei Mocheni. Having parked our car we continue following the road towards Dosso di Costalta. Here we can choose between the forest road or the steeper path (no. 404). Both of them lead to Malga Cambroncoi which can be reached in about one hour of walking time.
The pasture is wonderful and perfect for a short break before we continue hiking along path no. 404 to Cima Costalta after an additional hour of walking along steep uphill sections. We return to the starting point by retracing our steps.
Please note: near the car park there is a small, family-run mountain hut which offers typical local dishes. Along the path you can stop for a lunch break at about halfway at Malga Cambroncoi which is open every day in summer and on weekends in winter.
