Winter hike to the Bolentina mountain huts

During a stay in the Val di Sole valley you should not miss a visit to the Bolentina alpine pastures. They offer a gorgeous panoramic view on the whole valley

Starting point of this winter hike is the village of Bolentina. At the state road of the Val di Sole valley, we leave the village of Malè behind us and take then the road to Montes-Bolentina. In the village centre of Bolentina a parking space is located where we leave our car.

Now we start towards Piazza Merendaia along the asphalt road and path no. 119B. Afterwards we take the path no. 119 straight to the Marinelli bivouac. After we have left the beautiful little Mas de la Cros hut behind us, we continue to the Malga Bolentina alpine pasture, destination of our winter hike today. In front of us the entire Val di Sole valley extends – fantastic!

From here we start our way back along an unmarked path which leads us to the Malga Bolentina Bassa hut, located in the dense forest of the Val di Rabbi valley. Along a forest path we come back to Bolentina again, starting point of our winter hike.

Please note: there are no rest points along the path, bring your own provisions!
