Cogolo di Pejo

The village of Cogolo, the most important settlement of the municipality of Pejo is situated at the foot of the Ortles-Cevedale group

The main hamlets of , Celledizzo, Celentino and Comasine feature numerous hidden gems, such as the wooden altars of Pejo, the frescoes of the SS. Filippo and Giacomo church in Cogolo, the Palazzo Migazzi and the small church of Celentino. The other two hamlets of the municipality of Pejo are Strombiano and Pejo Fonti. The latter is a small district complete with recently renovated thermal baths, modern ski lifts and ski slopes at the foot of Monte Vioz.

Cogolo is the administrative, cultural, economic and political centre of both the municipality of Pejo and the entire valle di Pejo. The new Stelvio National Park visitor centre, which extends in the natural paradise of the Ortles-Cevedale group was built in this village. The thermal baths at about 1,400 m a.s.l. in the Stelvio National Park offer treatments for respiratory, circulatory, rheumatic and dermatological diseases, as well as beauty treatments. The fresh and crystal clear water of this facility derives from three springs called la Fonte Alpina, l'Antica Fonte and la Nuova Fonte.

Sports lovers can find numerous hiking itineraries in the Cevedale group, the Stelvio National Park, near the Catena Rossa biotopes and at the lakes Lungo, Pian Palù, delle Marmotte, Covel and Careser. In winter you can practise skiing in the ski areas of the Val di Sole. A stone's throw from Pejo there are also the Passo Tonale and Folgarida Marilleva skiing areas.
