Arco

The small but pretty city of Arco north of Lake Garda is situated along the shore of Lake Garda

One of Arco's most important historical buildings is the Castello di Arco, one of the most renowned and stunning castles in the Alps. The architectural renovation of this fortress led to a cultural enrichment of the city of Arco. The castello di Arco is one of the most frequently depicted castles. In fact, it can be admired in numerous paintings, including the very well-known watercolour painting by Albrecht Dürer "Le Val D’Arco - Fenediger Klausen", which can now be admired in the Louvre museum.

Thanks to its favourable geographical position among mountains and its vicinity to the lake, Arco is characterised by a mild climate. In winter, its centre hosts one of the most famous Christmas markets in Trentino.

This city also boasts both natural and artificial climbing walls and hosts the Rock Master, a world-famous climbing competition organised every year in summer in which the world-best climbers compete for the title of World Champion.

Mountain bikers can have fun on the surrounding hills and mountains.
