The Augustinian monastery and the Baroque church vouch for San Michele's eventful history. The village was the scene of wars between the Counts of Tyrol and the prince-bishops of Trento.
The aforementioned monastery now houses the METS - Museo etnografico trentino San Michele, where you can discover the ancient traditions of Trentino in an extensive exhibition.
The Agrarian Institute of San Michele all'Adige and the Wood institute are two of the most renowned research centres in this sector.
