Don

The small village of Don has about 250 inhabitants and is located at 973 m a.s.l. on a high plateau of the Monte Roen mountain in the upper Val di Non

The village is divided in four zones: Villa di Sopra, Villa di Mezzo, Villa di Sotto and the new residential area of Brusadi. Don is a little village, its history dates back to 1800, attested by some finds. The parish church of Don is worth a visit, it was built in 1873 and houses the pictures of the way of the cross, painted by Mattia Lumpi in 1753. Two more interesting buildings in Don are the Casa Simbeni and the Casa Endrici, where Celestino Endrici was born, the last prince-archbishop of Trento.

The quiet located village is ideal for holidays off the beaten track. In winter gorgeous winter hiking paths, well-prepared pistes and fantastic cross country ski tracks wait for you. In summer you can enjoy the beautiful walking and hiking paths, like for example during a walk to the three mills or the demanding hike from Don to the pilgrimage destination of San Romedio (approx. 4 hours walking time).
