The three hills where Tres is situated are called Doss, San Rocco and Mimela. Tres is a hamlet of the municipality of Predaia. The first hill was once a castle hill, whereas Colle San Rocco was usually the venue of municipal meetings.
The San Rocco parish church is surrounded by the extensive, verdant Prà de Lac park and stands on the central hill. Another interesting church is the Gothic Sant'Agnese church, one of the most beautiful mountain churches of the area. Its shingle-covered saddle roof, the impressive stone portal and precious frescoes, some of which painted by the Baschenis brothers, are true masterpieces. A visit to the S. Sigismondo church in the small hamlet of Vion is highly recommended.
Above the village of Tres extend the forests and malghe of the Predaia high plateau, where the ski lifts operate during winter. Here you can practise downhill and cross-country skiing. In summer this area boasts numerous hiking trails. From Corno di Tres you can admire a wonderful view of Trentino's and South Tyrol's mountains.
