Volano

Volano is situated at the heart of the Vallagarina north of Rovereto

Volano's historic centre can be found on a terrace at the edge of the valley. The main road is paralleled by two rows of houses, from where you can access the entrances of the picturesque inner courtyards made of stone, walkways and external wooden stairways.

The flat part of the village is covered with vineyards and fruit orchards and especially apple orchards. Furthermore, Volano is famous for the production of the Marzemino, one of the most well-known wines of Trentino. We recommend visiting the 15th-century St. Rocco church, which was built in Gothic style and houses some interesting frescoes.

Volano organises typical events, such as its carnival with the traditional carnival float and the Magnalonga, a walk of about 10 kilometres across the vineyards and the hamlets of Calliano and Besenello. During this tour dedicated to local cuisine and wines, you can taste many different wines and local delicacies at the stalls, as well as admire wonderful handicrafts and attend concerts and theatre performances.
