Description
A double challenge of 21 and 26 km for the most anticipated running event by Fiemme and Fassa locals and international runners. A spectacular route, inspired by the famous cross-country ski race.
On Saturday, 6 September, the Marcialonga Running Coop will conclude the trio of Marcialonga-branded events on a course that mirrors the historic cross-country ski race. Two distances, a large cheering crowd, and a single emotion await: 26 km from Moena to Cavalese for the classic route; 21 km to Masi di Cavalese for those preferring the half marathon. One of the event's unique features is the option to participate in a relay: teams of three people (men's, women's, or mixed) can cover the route in segments of 10 km, 8 km, and 8 km, donating part of their registration fee to a charitable organisation. In past editions, Kenyan runners have dominated, while Italian women have excelled. In the relay, however, Northern European teams often take the lead.
The start is at 16:30 from Piaz de Sotegrava in the centre of Moena. From here, runners embark on an evocative journey through the symbolic locations of Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme, touching upon: the "Stalimen" ski jumping stadium, a future venue for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games; the towns of Predazzo, Ziano and Panchià, along the cycling and pedestrian path; the Lago di Tesero cross-country ski centre, another Olympic site; the intermediate finish line in Masi di Cavalese for the half marathon; and the final 5 km uphill towards Cavalese, where Miss Soreghina will greet the winners.
In Moena, the Running Expo Village welcomes athletes and companions with music, giant-sized games, and children's entertainment. The fan point in Forno di Moena (16:30-17:30) with a DJ set in front of Bar/Pasticceria Reinhard will warm up the atmosphere for all participants. After the finish, the fun continues with a pasta party, award ceremonies, and live music.
