Faver, a hamlet of the municipality of Altavalle, has a particularly mild climate which is favourable for the cultivation and production of refined wines and grappas, including the Müller Thurgau grappa.
Originally the village was subdivided into the districts of Cort and Vich situated north and south of the locality, respectively. Each one has its own square and fountain and in former times they were managed by different jursidiction: Vich was ruled by the Lords of the Segonzano Castle and Cort by the Lords of Monreale (Königsberg). The historical centre is characterised by wonderful alleys with typical overpassing passages.
Of historical interest are the casa Tabarelli Fatis in piazza di Vich where once the tithes were collected and jurisdictional processes were held. We recommend visiting also the parish church dedicated to the Saints Philip and James.
Three kilometres from Faver lies Ponciach, a fascinating village embedded among verdant meadows and dense forests.
