The municipality of Spormaggiore with the hamlets of Belfort, Fabbrica, Maurina, Meano, Sedriago and Seghe has about 1,200 inhabitants. It extends from the apple orchards of the Val di Non to the Paganella high plateau at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites.
The village of Spormaggiore at 565 m a.s.l. overlooks the entrance to the Val di Non from a natural terrace. The village is the gateway to the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park and the seat of the wild park and visitor centre named "Orso, il Signore dei Boschi". We recommend visiting the stunning ruins and the well-preserved tower of Castel Belfort. The Grotta di Lovara in the hamlet of Fausior provides important evidence of geological and glacial phenomena.
Spormaggiore is only a stone's throw from the Paganella skiing area and an ideal starting point for numerous hiking and mountain bike itineraries to the Brenta Dolomites.
