The village of Flavon is located in the lower Val di Non valley, along an ancient Roman path which connected the Val di Non with the Val d’Adige.
Due to its important strategic location, Flavon was imperial fief of the Flavon aristocratic family, a dynasty which already expired in the 15th century.
The small village of Flavon is a destination for people seeking peace and quiet and for nature lovers and a popular starting point to discover the beauties of the Val di Non valley. Among them are the pilgrimage site of San Romedio and the numerous castles in the Val di Non but also several water falls and the canyon of Lake Smeraldo. Also hikes to alpine pastures and mountain huts at the Monte Alto mountain start in the village, moreover cycling tours and rides are possible.
Worth seeing is the parish church of Flavon, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist which was first mentioned already in 1248 and completely rebuilt in 1537. The church houses valuable frescoes of Angelo Baschenis. It is publicly accessible every day and was renovated recently.
