Accompanying the season's first skiers on the Buffaure and Ciampac lifts and slopes will be a noisy group of Krampus, set to cause mischief and stir curiosity.
The winter season in Val di Fassa opens with the thrill of snow and tradition. As every year, the start of the ski lifts coincides with the arrival of Saint Nicholas in the valley's villages, one of the most beloved saints for children. But he does not arrive alone: by his side are two angels and, slightly behind, the formidable Krampus, devils ready to punish those who have not been good throughout the year.
On Saturday 6 December, the Buffaure and Ciampac ski areas will host a noisy group of Krampus, who will burst onto the slopes, intent on creating chaos at high altitude. The Krampus from Poza, with their demonic masks and heavy footsteps in the snow, will animate the day with sudden appearances, chases, and spectacular photo opportunities, as the echo of their bells mixes with the swish of skis.
These infernal creatures will make an appearance on the most iconic slopes: from Vulcano del Buffaure to the lengthy Ciampac, and the challenging red run Col de Valvacin. For those who enjoy a challenge, there is the Sasso di Rocca timed slope: a race against the clock to add a dash of competition to an already exciting Saturday.
