Tour of the Alps

Every year in April, the starting pistol is fired for the famous Tour of the Alps, a tour for racing bicycles comprising different stages

The Tour of the Alps is a cycling race in stages for male athletes that leads across the beautiful sceneries of the Trentino, South Tyrol and Tyrol. Since 2020 it has also been part of the UCI Pro Series.

The Tour of the Alps has been organised since 1979 (until 2016 known as Giro del Trentino). In the course of the years, numerous national and international road racers took part in this race, who later on also won more famous competitions. The course is split up into more sections and passes the Trentino, South Tyrol and Tyrol.

Francesco Moser, Gilberto Simoni, Ivan Basso and Damiano Cunego are only some of the names that have made this race famous. The following jerseys are promised for the winners: green jersey (overall classification), blue jersey (Grand Prix de la Montagne classification), red jersey (points classification, new 2023) and white jersey (classification of the best young rider).
