Ciclovia del Garda - Garda by bike

The construction of the ciclovia del Garda is an ambitious project born with the purpose of building a cycle path that surrounds the entire Lake Garda. This approximately 145-km long itinerary will develop in three different regions: its northernmost part in Trentino, its easternmost section in Veneto and its westernmost stretch in Lombardy.

Thanks to this cycle track paralleling the lakeside, you can discover the unique beauty of this lake by bike or on foot without having to cross it with a boat or ferry. The cycling path is directly connected to the European cycling network EuroVelo 7 which in its section near Lake Garda coincides with the B1 BicItalia, the so-called "ciclopista del sole" which connects Peschiera del Garda to Verona and then continues to Mantova along the "ciclabile del Mincio". Other wonderful destinations in the surroundings are Monte Brione, the Valle dei Laghi and the lakes of Tenno, Ledro and Cavedine.

The cycle path is composed of six sections:

• Punta San Vigilio - Torri del Benaco: connects Garda to Torri

• Limone - Pescarol: this 2.5-km long section inaugurated in 2018 runs across suspension bridges overlooking the lake and delights cyclists with a stunning view of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains.

• Torbole - Riva del Garda: an approximately 5-km long pedestrian and cycling path along the lakeside between Torbole and Riva del Garda characterised by beaches and parks.

• Garda - Punta San Vigilio: this partially unpaved section runs mainly along the lakeside.

• Bardolino - Garda: an almost entirely paved pedestrian and cycling path in the shadow.

• Peschiera - Lazise: starts in Peschiera del Garda, the southernmost municipality of Lake Garda. It then develops along the coast as an unpaved itinerary with some short stretches on beaches where it is mandatory to dismount and push your bike.
