Latemar MTB circular tour

The cable cars allow less experienced bikers to complete the Latemar MTB circular tour and enjoy the spectacular scenery

We finally return to our starting point, the valley station of the Latemar Cable Car in Predazzo.

We start this tour at the valley station of the Latemar Cable Car in Predazzo which takes us up to the Baita Gardoné mountain hut. By chairlift, we continue to Passo Feudo, saving 1,100 m of ascent. Single track no. 521 leads us to the Malga Zischg and Rif. Ganischgeralm mountain huts, above Passo di Pampeago. The downhill trail via the Malga Epircher Laner mountain hut to Obereggen is asphalted - alternatively, we can follow gravel path no. 9.

From Obereggen, forest paths no. 9 and 8 (gravel road) lead slightly uphill via the Bewaller Farm to the famous Lago di Carezza (Karersee). The uphill section ends 4 km further on at Passo di Costalunga (Karerpass) between the Catinaccio and Latemar massifs - a short section follows the asphalted pass road at the junction with the Passo Nigra road.

Just after the pass, path no. 519 branches off on the right and takes us to Moena via the Malga Secine mountain hut. A gravelled downhill section through the forests at the eastern slope of Mt Latemar follows. Past the Malga Runcac mountain hut, we reach the village in the Val di Fassa, which is 550 metres lower than the hut. The cycle track following the course of the Rio Avisio, proceeds slightly downhill, taking us back to our starting point in Predazzo.
