Giovo is situated above Lavis and below Cembra Lisignago and its economy is heavily based on handicraft and agriculture.
The Assumption of Mary church in Verla di Giovo, the former seat of the parish of Giovo, was built between 1766 and 1774 in late Baroque style and is worth visiting. Another interesting church is the S. Floriano church which rises in a panoramic position on the eponymous hill.
The area around Giovo boasts relaxing hiking and walking paths, including the sentiero naturalistico Mancabrot e del Lac de Montesel, a wonderful natural trail.
