Fornace

Fornace is located in the east of the Monte Argentario, between Valle di Cembra and the Valsugana

Fronace has been established round Castello Roccabruna which today is seat of the town-hall, as well as the S. Martino church. The district Cortiveder represents the centre of Fornace, still today it boasts rural traces of history.

The name of the village probably derives from the silver melting furnaces (in Italian "forno“), which was won in the nearby mines. Tombs and other historic findings testimony Roman settlements in this area.

Also in Fornace the production of porphyry has got an important role to play. Also does Fornace attract visitors with its traditional, sports and gastronomic events taking place the whole year round. The original cuisine in the village reflects tradition and has got a wide variety of delicacies to offer which you absolutely have to taste.
