Daiano

The villages of Daiano, Carano and Varena are all situated at the foot of Monte Corno Nero and incorporate the typical character of the Val di Fiemme

Located in the immediate vicinity of Varena in the heart of the Val di Fiemme, Daiano is among the sunniest and calmest villages of the entire valley. It is accessible from Cavalese or San Lugano on the SS 620 of the Lavazè.

The historically most interesting monument of the village is Castel Croda, a massif castle with gothic elements which served as a refuge for outlaws. The huge fountains carved from a single block of porphyry are popular especially in Daiano, Varena and Cavalese. They were built between 1875 and 1878, following terrible fires which had ravaged the village.

The main skiing areas with ski slopes and cross-country tracks are reachable within a short time. This village is also an ideal starting point for numerous summer hikes.
