Varena

The village of Varena is situated on the slopes of the Corno Nero, also known as "Rocca" (2,439 m a.s.l.). This locality is a typical residential area of the Val di Fiemme between the Valle del Pezzòn and the Valle del Rio Gambis.

The Presepio of Varena, a nativity scene with 90 figures and 120 animals exhibited on an overall surface of 2,500 sq m, is one of the most unique attractions. You can admire this and many other nativity scenes along a 900-metre long path. The porphyry fountains dating back to the 19th century are interesting as well. It is said that these fountains used to supply the village with the "best drinking water of the valley".

The altopiano di Lavazè, a natural and paradise for hikers and winter sports enthusiasts is only 8 km from Varena and includes more than 80 km of ski slopes and cross-country tracks.
