Founded following the fusion of the municipalities of the Giudicarie centrali (Ragoli, Preore and Montagne) , the municipality of Tre Ville is home to approximately 1,400 inhabitants. Tre Ville extends in a strategic position towards the Val Rendena and the Valle del Chiese.
The numerous built up houses are part of the historic Comunità delle Regole di Spinale e Manez, the rural consortium of mountain municipalities which still regulate the use of the pastures and forests of the Regola di Manez and Regola di Spinale above Madonna di Campiglio.
