Dolomiti di Brenta Bike Stage 4: Stenico - Pinzolo - Campiglio

The probably toughest stage of the Brenta round tour, with an ascent of more than 2,300 metres in altitude and 44 km length leads us through a varied scenic landscape and offers special track characteristics

Our hefty daily stage starts quite comfortably in Stenico. We cycle a few kilometres along the country road at the mountain slope towards west to Ragoli. There the ascent to Montagne starts, first on asphalt, then along a gravelled road. At the village of Binio (1,100 m asl.) we reach a bend of the SP 236 road up to the Daone mountain pass (1,330 m asl.), then we have to cycle downhill until the bend, where the “Nisafta” forest road turns which we take, always following the signposts to the Malga Movlina mountain hut.

Bend after bend we cycle uphill to the Passo Stablei mountain pass and further to the Movlina Alm (1,800 m asl.), along the single trail to the Gotro Pass mountain pass and to the meadows of Bregn de l’Ors (1,850 m asl.) and further downhill to the Lake Val d’Agola. Until here we enjoy the beautiful Brenta Dolomites on our right and the Adamello mountain group on our left.

Along some sections, among them also a part of the descent, we have to carry the bicycles (too dangerous and hikers). Past the Valagola mountain hut a descent along a gravelled road follows, downhill to 1,200 m asl. Now a last ascent of about 350 m through the Vallesinella valley lies ahead of us, which leads us straight to the road to Madonna di Campiglio.
