Situated left of the Cismon and Canali streams at an altitude of 746 m a.s.l. and with a population of 2,100 inhabitants, it is the largest village and the centre of the valley. This ancient centre of mineral production is nowadays a sought-after destination for relaxing holidays in nature which has preserved its wonderful historic centre, holding the international title of "Comune Fiorito" (blooming village).
The 17th century parish church dedicated to San Marco is an artistic masterpiece hosting a precious altarpiece of San Marco. The Palazzo Someda, built in the 16th century, a Renaissance villa and cultural meeting point for both local and international artists, houses nowadays exhibitions and cultural events.
