The municipality of Mezzolombardo lies along the road which formerly connected the Val d'Adige with the Val di Non. The village at the foot of a mountain is overlooked by the S. Pietro castle and the eponymous church. Along the main road you can admire various noble residences from the 18th and 20th centuries.
This very ancient village plunges its roots in prehistory and this is why it became a flourishing economic centre based on vinegrowing over the centuries. According to legends the famous Teroldego red wine was already known by poet Ovid.
Mezzolombardo lies along the "Strada del vino e dei sapori" of the Piana Rotaliana and is therefore an interesting destination for wine lovers and foodies.
