With its castles Della Torre and San Pietro, enthroning the village, Mezzolombardo is a village that is steeped in history

Mezzolombardo is located along the former road section between the Val d’Adige and Val di Non valleys. The village extends at the foot of a mountain that is dominated by San Pietro Castle and the homonymous chapel. Along the main road you can see wonderful mansions dating back to the 18th and 20th centuries.

The municipality has got historic roots reaching back to prehistoric times, wherefor in the course of the last centuries it has become a flourishing economic centre. Particularly viticulture is has been and is still promoted in the village. According to an ancient legend the red wine Teroldego was already known by the poet Ovid.

Mezzolombardo is located along the “Strada del vino e dei sapori” of the Rotaliana plain, a pleasure road mainly focusing on wine, which is a popular excursion destination for gourmets.
