Brez

Brez is situated in a panoramic position on the right side of the Valle della Novella and boasts some interesting historic buildings

This ancient and calm village in the northern part of the Val di Non belongs to the municipality of Novella and is divided into the two districts Brez and Rivo which are composed of the settlements of Arsio, Traversara, Carnalez and Salobbi.

In Rivo you can visit the Monumento al Minatore, a monument created in 1932 by local artist Stefano Zuech and dedicated to miners, as well as two other important buildings: Casa De Avancini from 1697 with its square tower and precious sundial (in the picture) and Casa Ruffini with its portal and coat of arms of the eponymous family.

The small S. Floriano church from the 13th century was built between Brez and Arsio in gothic style and rebuilt in 1517. In Arsio you can visit two beautiful 15th century noble residences too: Casa Corazzi (also known as Palazzo de Manincor or Castel Freieck) and Castel S. Giovanni.
