Frassilongo (Garait in the Mòcheno language) is the first village of the Valle dei Mòcheni and its population is almost entirely composed of the descendants of an ancient Germanic ethnicity, the Mòcheni. The scattered farms of this village are situated on large meadows. In the village of Roveda, the Istituto Culturale Mòcheno restored a very ancient mill which is now open to the public.
The hamlet of Kamauz (or Kamaovrunt) lies in a wonderful panoramic position too. In the municipality of Frassilongo you can start your journey into the culture of the Mòcheni. The 16th century church of the village is interesting to visit as it houses a statues of the Madonna and St. Udalrico, the patron saint of the village.
