The Malga San Giovanni tavern, near Riva del Garda, is accessible by car only via Arco. Hikers and mountain bikers reach it from the other side, the Valli Giudicarie area. The mountain hut is a popular excursion destination, famous for its gorgeous surrounding and the quiet, as it is located far from traffic and noise. The view on the entire Valle dei Laghi valley and the famous Lake Garda is fantastic.
Our chosen route is quite special, because halfway we have the possibility to visit the San Martino excavation site. It is famous all over Europe because Early Christian finds were made here some years ago.
Starting point is the little village of Lundo in the Valli Giudicarie area. We take the path no. 425 until it ends. It was named after the famous alpinist Pier Giorgio Frassati. To return to our starting point again, we take the same route.
