Bolbeno and Bondo: small winter sports centres

Also in the Valli Giudicarie you can practice winter sports. In Coste di Bolbeno, for example, there is the Borgo Lares Ski Area, which consists of two easily accessible slopes (with lighting for night skiing) and is mainly used by local ski clubs. They are complemented by the Bolbenolandia winter park, where young visitors can learn skiing and have fun with sledging, bobsleighing and tubing.

From the winter season 2024/25, there will be two important new features in the Borgo Lares Ski Area:

Widening of the piste, fully illuminated to allow skiing in the evening hours.
Inauguration of the new four-seater chairlift: faster and more convenient access to the slopes.

The area is also perfect for cross-country skiing, ice skating and offers numerous impressive tours for ski mountaineers. Particularly suitable for cross-country skiing is the area of Bondo, which is considered to be snow-sure and where cross-country skiing usually can be practised until the end of the winter season. There are two cross-country ski runs: a 2 km long run is illuminated, whereas you can find a 5 km long track at Pracul.

By the way: the Valle del Chiese valley is a very famous place for ice climbing. Events of international importance take place here, such as the Ice Master World Cup, which attracts athletes from all over the world for spectacular challenges.
