Segonzano

Segonzano is about 25 km from Trento and comprises marvellous hamlets at an altitude between 490 and 970 m a.s.l

Segonzano is an extensive area on the large slopes of the Dosso di Segonzano and the Ceramont, the mountains covered with forests that separate the Valle di Cembra from the altopiano di Piné. The 15 hamlets of Segonzano are scattered in different areas.

The lower part of the municipal area stretches on the sunny slopes towards the Avisio river where vines are cultivated. In Segonzano agriculture and especially viticulture, wood and porphyry processing, as well as handicraft play an essential role.

The most interesting monuments from an artistic and historical point of view are the Trinity church in Stedro and the St. Nicholas church in Sevignano. The road to the Our Lady of Help Sanctuary starts from Sabion.
The earth pyramids of Segonzano (piramidi di terra di Segonzano) are a natural highlight which should not be missed. These elegant, up to 20 metres high columns are a stunning natural phenomenon and some of them are topped by a massive rock which protects them from erosion.
