The village of Castello (953 m a.s.l.) is situated in the Val di Fiemme, one of the main valleys of the Dolomites. This locality is the administrative centre of the municipality of Castello-Molina di Fiemme and one of its hamlets along with Molina, Predaia and Stramentizzo. Castello di Fiemme is composed of several ancient but well-preserved buildings dating back to the 16th century, as well as hotels and facilities.
This popular winter and summer tourist destination offers a wide range of different activities which can be practised in the local sports centres featuring tennis and bocce courts, as well as cross-country ski tracks. Castello di Fiemme hosts both national and international cross-country ski competitions.
The historic centre is complete with several shops, banks, a post office and a pharmacy. Artistically interesting buildings are the so-called "case romane" (literally Roman houses) from the 16th century.
