Borgo d’Anaunia

The municipality of Borgo d’Anaunia was founded in January 2020 following the merger of the municipalities of Fondo, Malosco and Castelfondo.

The municipality of Borgo d'Anaunia in the Val di Non valley is located at an altitude of about 1,000 metres a.s.l. and has about 2,490 inhabitants. It includes the fractions of Fondo (the communal seat), Castelfondo, Dovena, Malosco, Raina, Tret and Vasio.

Borgo d'Anaunia offers a wide range of possibilities for an active and cultural holiday, with the whole family and in contact with nature. Cycle lovers will discover the surroundings of Borgo d'Anaunia along the Val di Non cycle path, while hikers can enjoy a wide range of hiking paths and beautiful lakes such as Lake Smeraldo, Lake Tret or the Rio Sass canyon. The churches in the villages are also worth a visit, as well as the museum "La Casa dell'Acqua" and the water meter in Fondo.

In winter this area is popular for the beautiful winter and snowshoe hikes, as well as for cross-country skiing. Every year the famous "Ciaspolada" takes place in Fondo, a snowshoe race that attracts many visitors from all over the world.
