Dambel

The village of Dambel with its 414 inhabitants is situated between two inlets of the Novella stream in the heart of the Val di Non

Dambel is embedded in the apple orchards of the Val di Non on the eastern bank of Lago di Santa Giustina. It is reachable by the provincial road which connects the village to Sanzeno and Seio di Sarnonico, where you can find the popular Dolomiti Golf Club.

The Assumption of Mary parish church is located on the "Doss dei Sadorni". According to legends, this church was built on an ancient holy temple dedicated to Saturn. The parish church was consecrated in the 15th century and houses an artistically valuable wooden altar. The bell tower with its gothic arches and the high pinnacle are also worth mentioning.

The chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows stands on another hill called "Saorì". Ancient Roman graves and decorations were found in the vicinity of this 17th century building.
