Rumo

The Val di Rumo is situated in a mainly alpine landscape at the foot of the Maddalene group

Rumo, or "Rum" in the local dialect, is a scattered municipality in the northern Val di Non between the Pescara and Lavazè streams and includes the hamlets of Lanza, Mocenigo, Mione - Corte Inferiore and Marcena (administrative centre) which are composed of different settlements each.

In the streets of Rumo's hamlets you can find numerous traces of a glorious past. The most recent historic events are represented on numerous remains throughout the area, ranging from shrines dating back to the Great Plague of the 17th century to paintings on private houses. The ancient San Udalrico church in the village of Corte Inferiore was built in the 14th century and houses a fresco of the Last Supper by the brothers Giovanni and Battista Baschenis and the 15th century parish church dedicated to the Conversione di San Paolo in Marcena is known for its wonderful organ of 1763 and its low-relief depicting San Romedio with the bear on the external lateral portal.

Nature lovers can find numerous places where to relax and practise different sports: from collecting mushrooms in autumn, to mountaineer skiing tours in winter, from challenging alpine hikes to easy bike and mountain bike tours, like the percorso "Rankipino". The latter, a 57 km long cycling and pedestrian path from the Passo Palade to the entrance to the Val di Sole, runs along stunning natural landscapes and villages of the Val di Non, including Rumo.
