Situated at the foot of the Presena glacier (3,000 m a.s.l.) this winter and summer holiday resort offers the possibility to ski almost all year round (except for the summer). The skiing area features more than 44 km of slopes which are connected to the slopes of Ponte di Legno in the upper Valle Camonica and those of Temù. Cross-country ski enthusiasts can practise their favourite sport on the cross-country tracks at the piana Tonale (5 km) and those of the Volpaia-Stavel-Velon ski area (20 km) in Vermiglio.
In summer, the Passo Tonale is an ideal starting point for strolls, hikes and mountain bike tours in the Stelvio National Park, in the Adamello-Presanella Group and the Ortles-Cevedale range.
