Cavizzana

Cavizzana is an idyllic agricultural village at 710 m a.s.l. between Cles and Caldes

Cavizzana is the only municipality of the lower Val di Sole to be situated at the right orographic side of the Noce stream. The year 1632 represents a milestone in the history of the village and was therefore also carved into the "sas de la Guardia" boulder. In this year the plague, also known as "manzoniana", hit the entire valley except Cavizzana which, thanks to its isolated position and continuous surveillance avoided the pandemic.

The Gothic parish church is a true artistic gem built in "alpine style, the typical Val di Sole style". This sacral building dates back to 1400 and is dedicated to Saint Martin Bishop of Tours who is depicted also on the municipality's coat of arms. Like almost every village of the valley, Cavizzana is marked by agriculture with a particular focus devoted to fruit cultivation.

The sports facilities include a bocce court and different cycle paths.
