From Passo Sommo, past Rifugio Paradiso, to the small peak of Monte Cornetto della Vigolana above Folgaria - a panoramic mountain amidst the Southern Calcareous Alps

Passo del Sommo (1,340 m a.s.l.), located along the road connecting Folgaria to Lavarone is the starting point of our alpine tour to the peak of Monte Cornetto della Vigolana (2,060 m a.s.l.). The car park is 200 metres from Chalet Sommo, in the direction of Folgaria. We begin our hike on a forest road that takes us across the meadows at Sommo and then into the forest. Slightly above it, we follow the signpost for "Rifugio Paradiso", a currently closed restaurant. This hut, formerly the mountain station of the now dismantled Folgaria cable car (now dismantled), is situated in a large meadow.
We climb up to the St. Vigilius Chapel, where our route joins path no. 425, leading through the forest. Initially, the path climbs steeply uphill before flattening along the edge of the Val Profinaz gorge. The landscape is characterised by mountain pines and flowers bloomng among the white calcareous rocks. We walk past the crossroads near the Anticima Cornetto, marked by the Croce dello scialpinista (Ski Tourers' cross) and climb to the panoramic point at the summit.
On our return, we pass the Anticima Cornetto again and follow path no. 451 through an alpine landscape of forests and meadows. We descend on path no. 451 until it meets our ascent route at a junction near Malga Cornetto di Dietro and follow this familiar path for the final two kilometres back to Passo Sommo. The huge variety in landscape and the unique beauty of this route, ranging from pleasant forest paths to the steep, rocky slopes, make for an unforgettable experience.
